About Green Button Data

Green Button is a standard that allows electricity customers to download their detailed usage data from their utility. Duke Energy provides this data in XML format following the ESPI (Energy Service Provider Interface) standard.

How to get your data:

  1. Log into your Duke Energy account
  2. Navigate to "My Usage" or "Energy Usage"
  3. Look for "Download Usage Data" or "Green Button"
  4. Select your desired date range
  5. Download the XML file

What we analyze:

  • 15-minute interval usage data (kWh and kW)
  • Time-of-Use (TOU) period classification
  • Peak demand calculations
  • Cost analysis under different rate schedules
